Biography:
Dr. Bonnie Goff is a developmental psychologist with a focus on the neurobiological impacts of early adverse experiences on socio-emotional development. She earned her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology in 2016, contributing significant insights into how early-life experiences influence future mental health outcomes.
Since 2017, Dr. Goff has been a full-time lecturer at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), including the co-instruction of the Applied Developmental Psychology minor. She also developed two new courses, Effects of Early Adversity & Trauma and Dynamic Perspectives on Parenting, now part of the UCLA course catalog. Her classes are known for their practical applications of developmental psychology, enriched by her personal experiences.
Dr. Goff was honored with UCLA’s Psychology Department Distinguished Teaching Award in 2023. As a mother of two young boys, including one with autism, she brings a deep empathy to her work, which informs both her teaching and her advocacy for mental health awareness and inclusivity.
