Research and Teaching Interests:
Research in Dr. Lau’s lab addresses three broad areas related to the mental health of culturally diverse youth. First, we examine risk and protective factors for the development of child emotional and behavioral problems in cultural context. Second, we are studying the implementation of evidence based treatments (EBTs) for youth and families in community mental health agencies serving low-income ethnic minority youth and families . Third, we focus on strategies for reducing racial/ethnic disparities in youth mental health care with a focus on school-based prevention and intervention.
